Breast Milk and Child Digestive System

"Breast milk helps establish the bacterial community in a child's digestive system, according to the study. Previous studies have shown that bacteria also aid in baby’s absorption of nutrients.

“We refer to breast milk as ‘liquid gold.’ It contains fats, lipids and proteins and it coats the gut with all kinds of antibodies,” said Jen Wasiak, board certified lactation consultant at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill."
